"Space for Humans"

50 years of space age

1. Introduction

The Committee on Space Research of Polish Academy of Sciences and the Warsaw University of Technology jointly arrange a conference to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Space Age, which shall take place in Main Building of the University on 2nd and 3rd of October 2007. The most significant achievements of recent fifty years and visions of further development of space research shall be presented. The participants are representatives of Polish Authorities, National Space Agencies from all over the world, astronauts, representatives of the science and students.

2. Conference's Objectives

The main aim of the Conference is to summarize last 50 years space related research and industry development on global scale and in Poland and to present visions of their further progress.

3. General Information

The celebrations of 50th anniversary of Space Age beginning are divided into to two days of activities: the first - official one and the second- student one. the first day will be fullfiled with prelections of our distinguished guests and the second one - with competitions and students' presentations. Time schedule of the Event is described in "Conference Program" tab.

  • Michał Seweryński - Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland
  • Mirosław Hermaszewski - The first Polish astronaut.
  • Michał Kleiber - President of Polish Academy of Sciences.
  • Grzegorz Woźniak - Minister of Economy of the Republic of Poland.

4. I cannot miss it!

The Conference is open to everyone - anybody can participate. Scientific institutions are kindly invited to cooperation in arrangements, entrepreneurs for exhibitions or sponsorship, mass media representatives to take over medial patronage. Everyone can find here something interesting, therefore we would also like to invite free listeners. Participation is of course free of charge, but You are requested to register yourself in our system, so the organizers could prepare everything well, though. ("Registration" tab). We kindly invite everybody!
